What happened behind closed doors at Geoghegans?

We have been busy busy behind closed doors – fulfilling our online orders and working on a few lock down renovations. We have been in business over 72 years now and believe me there is always something that needs renovating.

The first big project was the installation of a new lift. We have been planning to install a lift for years now. We adore our sweeping stairs from the Menswear to the Womenswear floor but appreciate it is not the most practical for some of our customers.

So last year in the middle of the lockdown we installed our gorgeous new Lift which connects our Home Interiors department on the first floor to our Womenswear & Lingerie Department on the second floor.

The new lift was very well tested by Siobháns kids during lock down. Hours of entertainment going up and down and back up again. The lift definitely works.

Our next renovation project is going to focus on the exterior of the shop and the display windows. Both entrances are well used and deserve a little love. Fingers crossed this project will be completed in July just in time for a sunny summer. Please bear with us during renovations which hopefully will not be too inconvenient for our customers.

In addition, we have been working with our suppliers both Irish & International to ensure we have a gorgeous portfolio of brands instore when we are ready to open on the 17th May. We have all our usual fabulous brands instore and we have added a few carefully selected new ones. New brands include: Emme Marella, Marie Mero, Zilch, Bugatti and Stof Interiors from France.

We cannot wait till Monday to open the doors again to all our lovely customers. Roll on Monday 17th
